ABOUT US
Art+Works Too calls
Buffalo, Wyoming, nestled at the foot of the ever wondrous Bighorn
Mountains, its home.
The art we show is intended
for all kinds of collectors, and all levels of pocket books. Art is a part of all our
lives and the artists in our region enrich us all in so many ways. This is a place for
them to express themselves, and for the rest of us to get to know them and their work
better in a comfortable atmosphere. As for the Native Arts, we only show contemporary Native American arts because
doing so supports LIVING traditions and discourages the rampant trade in illegal Native
art through grave digging and desecration of burial grounds. Folk arts
from around the world are our third passion -- from Bulgaria, India, Mexico
and South America to name a few of the locations we frequently welcome into
our gallery.
Art+Works Too is not just for
the visual arts. We invite and welcome the performing artists in our community to use this
space. Please, check our events
calendar for the latest news on arts events coming to Buffalo and teh
surrounding region, and for any musical events here at AW2. We hope the poets and
singers and playwrights among us will continue to take advantage of this space and offer
performances here.
Many of you remember our
first home, which was wonderful and cozy and too small! We have moved
and for the last two years have slowly been remodeling our new home -- the
first permanent home of the Buffalo Bulletin and Buffalo's old Post Office.
We found many treasures in this remodel and they grace our walls today.
The art gallery and coffeehouse are now on the second floor and include an
outside deck once again that has a wonderful view of the Bighorns! We
have also started an internet cyber cafe ! So it's a great place to
combine surfing the net, drinking your favorite latte and sitting in the
shadow of the Bighorn Mountains of north central Wyoming. Please stop
by and come see what we have done with the place since your last visit!
Another change you will see
is that we have updated our site to include better shopping AFTER your
visit. So many folks have asked us to improve this aspect of our web
page to make it easier to get anniversary gifts, birthday presents and
Christmas / Hanukah gifts later in the year. And we we have! We
are working hard to refresh the web page with an all new look and now are
hard at work on the shopping cart that will be very secure, very convenient
and kept up to date. We are even hoping to start a Coffee of the Month
Club, which will make a great gift for birthdays or Christmas / Hanukah for
the organic coffee drinker who would like to many of the coffees that are
grown and roasted here in the Americas. Check out our organic coffee
page -- there you will find gift boxes and coffee of the month certificates
with Bighorn Blend, Jim Bridger, Sacagawea, BearTooth, Dry Fly, and many
others that are brewed right here in the Bighorns and carry a little of our
special history with them. So watch for the new coffee's page coming
soon!
If you have ideas for using
Art+Works Too in some creative way, please, let us know. Or if you are a
traveling artist, musician or scholar and would like to give a workshop or performance ... drop us a
line! If you want to teach art classes in back, or have a speaker come in (no
politics or preaching please) or know of an artist you would like to have us show or demonstrate their
craft, we would love to hear about it. We cant do everything, but there is a whole
lot we can do and would love to do.
We hope you will come often,
hang out and bring us your creative ideas and energy ... and in this way make Art+Works
Too and the Cowgirl Coffeehouse an even greater place than we have imagined it could be.
And, if you are just passing through, we hope you enjoy our local flavor and hospitality!
Welcome
Back! Vanessa, Zuni and all the AW2 Gang
